What If Accessibility Was the Norm? A Filmmaker’s Bold Vision.
Marci Krown and The Power of Sports for Amputees
At Cloud of Goods, we believe that life should be limitless—and that includes travel, play, and movement for everyone. That’s why we were so inspired when we sat down with filmmaker and advocate Marci Krown , the creative force behind The Power of Sports for Amputees .
Marci’s journey into storytelling wasn’t your typical Hollywood script. Originally from Cleveland, she earned her degree in Recreation Management from Kent State University and started out planning programs in the resort and health club world. After moving to San Diego, she stayed within the event and sport planning field and later started her own business while raising her son. As he grew older, Marci decided to explore acting, taking classes and eventually landing roles in commercials, industrials, short films, and feature films.
After two years of acting—and a nudge from her teacher who told her, “If you want to be a better actor—produce a film”—she took the leap into production and never looked back. Her career path took another pivotal turn during her time in Atlanta, where she worked as a staff member for the 1996 Paralympic Games, continuing her work in sports. This experience lit a spark that would become her life mission: to share the strength, struggles, and stories of people in the adaptive sports world.
“There are still so many stigmas around disabilities,” she told us. “But I realized—if my own perceptions could change, maybe I could help others shift theirs too.”
Beyond the Surface: The True Essence of the Film
While the documentary focuses on sports, it’s about so much more: freedom, empowerment, and possibility. Marci hopes that viewers—especially those who use mobility aids—see themselves reflected in the film and realize they can live big, joyful, connected lives.
“Just because someone uses a prosthetic or a wheelchair doesn’t mean life stops. If anything, it means they’ve got one more tool to go live it.”
And she’s right. At Cloud of Goods, we hear stories every day from travelers who rediscover their independence thanks to a mobility scooter or wheelchair. Marci’s work celebrates that same freedom. Creating this film hasn’t been easy for her. During production, Marci faced her own challenges—she lost three parents and got COVID twice—but the stories of the athletes and amputees kept her going.
“I had to keep going. Their stories deserved to be told. Even on the toughest days, I remembered that.”
It's that unwavering dedication that makes her work so powerful and relatable.
Changing the Narrative
Throughout filming, Marci met people who had never been told about the resources available to them—support groups, community events, or even something as simple as equipment rental for day-to-day life.
That’s a big reason why Cloud of Goods exists. We make it easy for people to get the gear they need—wherever they are, and whenever they need it. For someone traveling to a theme park, conference, or sports tournament, we’re often the difference between sitting something out or rolling up with confidence.
“People assume scooters or wheelchairs are only for the elderly or injured. That’s just not true,” Marci said. “These tools open doors—literally and figuratively.”

Inclusion Starts with Action
Marci’s film also shines a light on something too often ignored: how invisible barriers still exist in public spaces, businesses, and mindsets. She paints a beautiful vision—one where accessibility isn’t an afterthought—it is the default. That means more ramps, automatic doors, fair hiring practices, equal pay, and hotel rooms that work for everyone. It’s also about educating those who don’t realize the barriers they’ve built. Change isn’t easy, but it starts with awareness—and a commitment to doing better.
“Inclusivity isn’t just talking the talk. It’s walking the walk. It’s doing the work—even when it’s not convenient.”
We couldn't agree more. At Cloud of Goods, our mission is to support accessible travel and mobility for all. Whether you’re planning a family vacation, attending a screening, or visiting a new city—we’re here to help you get there.
From mobility scooters in Orlando to wheelchair rentals in San Francisco , our nationwide network of local partners makes it easy to book and go. We also work with event organizers, hotels, and businesses to ensure people with mobility needs can show up fully and comfortably.

Marci’s message is clear: Disability doesn’t mean disconnection. It’s all about community, creativity, and access—when we provide these, everyone can be a part of something bigger.
There’s a misconception that mobility equipment, like scooters and wheelchairs, is only for the elderly or that using them signals weakness. That’s far from the truth. People rely on this equipment to live full, active lives—whether due to a medical condition, a service-related injury, or just the natural course of life. It’s not about what you can’t do; it’s about embracing the freedom to move, explore, and thrive.
So next time you're heading out—whether for travel, work, or play—remember that mobility is freedom. And Cloud of Goods is here to help you roll into your next adventure with ease.
When accessibility becomes the norm, life is limitless!
