Join us for an afternoon of South Jersey stories and the Traveling Exhibit opening!
Where can you meet local experts on South Jersey basket making, Cambodian temple dance and an African American cemetery preservationist—all in one place? At the H.E.A.R. Oral History Showcase on Saturday, April 22!
H.E.A.R. [Heritage Evident and Relevant] is a dynamic crossroads of people, ideas, and cultures—connecting community scholars with iconic South Jersey personalities and supporting their work to collect and preserve stories that foster knowledge and respect. We can’t wait to hear what they have to share. Meet participants in the H.E.A.R. Oral History project who are eager to give you a five-minute “tour” of their project, share their interview experiences or even offer tips on starting your own community oral history project. Come early to check out the Camden Count Historical Society’s fabulous new audio tour featuring new exhibits! Photo montage featuring visual artist/arts advocate Kimberly Camp, Merchantville Green Team activist Dorothy Foley, entrepreneur and hair artisan Atiya Johnson, and master Basket weaver Steven Carty.
