The Children's Aquarium at Fair Park is an aquarium located in Fair Park, Dallas, Texas, USA. It opened in 1936 as part of the Texas Centennial Exposition, and received an $8 million renovation in 2010. The Aquarium has six exhibit areas. The Freshwater Zone displays American alligator, alligator snapping turtles, red-bellied piranhas, and electric eels. The Intertidal Zone has upside-down jellyfish, Oriental sweetlips, archerfish, starfish, and sea urchins, as well as the Coastal Touch Tank, where guests can interact with horseshoe crabs, slipper lobsters, sea urchins, sea stars, hermit crabs, and many more animals. The Shore Zone displays spiny lobsters, hermit crabs, and batfish. The Near Shore Zone houses Giant Pacific Octopus, wolf eel, jewel moray eel, garden eel, angelfish, and hawksbill sea turtles. The Offshore Zone features unusual-looking animals such as lionfish and Pharaoh Cuttlefish. Stingray Bay allows guests to feed cownose rays, while seeing southern stingrays, zebra sharks, nurse sharks, blacktip sharks, whitetip sharks, and brown sharks.
