San Diego Zoo Wheelchair Rental Service

The San Diego Zoo welcomes all guests. San Diego Zoo allows strollers as well as mobility assistive devices such as wheelchairs and electric scooters to be used within the park. The Zoo has a comprehensive guide for guests with disabilities . Please be familiar with it before you go. 

There are two ways to rent a wheelchair to use at San Diego Zoo. Rent one that is on-site or rent one from a third-party vendor such as Cloud of Goods. Let's look at both ways. 

Renting a wheelchair to use at San Diego Zoo from the park itself

There are a limited number of wheelchairs available at the Zoo. Manual and electric wheelchairs are available to be rented for the day.  Prices are subject to change based on demand. The only way to know the price is to check the prices that are posted on-site at the rental facility when you arrive at the park. Wheelchairs on the park are rented on a first-come, first-served basis.

Renting a wheelchair from a third-party vendor to use at San Diego Zoo 

Rental vendors like Cloud of Goods provide manual wheelchair rentals and electric wheelchair rentals for guests who visit San Diego Zoo. They provide both delivery and pickup of the wheelchair. And also, they can deliver the wheelchair to your hotel if you need to. Unlike wheelchairs at the Zoo, you are free to take the wheelchair back to your hotel or other attractions. Things to know about using a wheelchair at San Diego Zoo

1. What is the minimum age to rent an electric wheelchair? You have to be at least 16 years old to rent an on-prem wheelchair. 

2. Does the guided bus tour at the zoo accommodate wheelchairs? Yes. The guided bus tour accommodates one wheelchair per vehicle.
